About us

Welcome to Overton Photographic Club – we hope to see you on a club night soon.

Established in 1977, our club celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. We are an active member of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation (SCPF) who in turn are affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB).

Our meetings take place in Overton Recreation Centre, Bridge Street, from 7:30pm on Friday evenings from September through to May. On these evenings we enjoy a range of activities from subject-focused speakers to workshops, competitions and product presentations. They provide inspiration and help us grow as photographers – as well as being entertaining.

All levels of interest and proficiency are welcome to join us, and we’re particularly beginner friendly – we’re all here to share and learn.

We run as a membership club, but visitors are always very welcome on any evening for £2 on the door – just turn up. Find out what is happening each evening in our programme and come along!

All members qualify to take part in our many competitions in print and digital formats, choosing to enter as general or advanced. Each competition is judged by a professional photographer who gives constructive criticism on each anonymously presented photo. This invaluable advice helps us all take better photos – and try to understand what judges want. We also take part in regional and national competitions as a club and occasionally hold exhibitions.
